Prenton 13 Sefton 10

A Steve Roberts penalty two minutes from the end of the game gave Prenton victory and left Sefton still searching for their first points in the Cheshire/Lancashire South second division.

Star man Roberts provided a virtuoso display by scoring all Prenton’s points with a try, conversion and another penalty.

Sefton scored two tries through Wayne Osborne and Mark Tyms who were outstanding, along with Gareth Rogerson.

Stand-off Gareth Williams was Anselmians' kingpin with a 15 point contribution, thanks to a try, two conversions and two penalties.

The home side's other tries were scored by Jamie Kimpton and James Taylor.

Brian Gardner was outstanding in his first senior game of the season for Sefton who replied with an Alan Harper try.
